To provide a heating device that can produce carbon fiber, graphite fiber, etc., of good quality by utilizing microwave, and suitably saves electric energy by simplifying the constitution.
The heating device includes microwave supply means of introducing microwave electric power into a heating furnace body 11; filter zones 12a, 12b which are provided at an entrance part 11a and an exit part 11b of the heating furnace body 11, and prevent the microwave electric power from leaking; a heating pot 15 which is formed of a microwave heating material in the form of a hollow body, and arranged between the entrance part 11a and exit part 11b of the heating furnace body 11; and heat insulating materials 16, 17 which separate an interior 11c of the heating furnace body 11 and a space in the heating pot 15 from each other, and holds the heating pot 15, and is small in microwave absorption. A linear workpiece 18 supplied from the entrance part 11a is run through the heating pot 15, and discharged from the exit part 11b to be heated in the heating pot 15.
