To provide a high-density woven fabric equipped with both excellent waterproof performance and good moisture permeability, and having a stable constitutional structure.
This high-density woven fabric is obtained by making the denier value of warp yarns of the woven fabric as equivalent or larger than the denier value of the weft yarns, preferably by ≥1.5 fold, making ≥2,800 total value of the cover factor of the weft yarns and cover factor of the warp yarns, setting ≥65% ratio of the cover factor of the warp yarns and giving a water-repelling treatment. Thereby, since gaps formed at the crossing points of the warp and weft yarns become small, and the constitutional structure becomes compact, the fabric exhibits a high waterproof performance of ≥1,000 mm degree of water resistance and the constitutional structure becomes hardly changeable even by repeating its use and washing. In addition, since a resin coating or film lamination is not necessary, its moisture permeability is secured and its wearing comfortableness is excellent. It is desirable to use a synthetic filament yarn as the warp and weft yarns, and a calendar processing can be performed.
