Abstract:
To attain high color temp. and high clolor rendering characteristics without generating lighting error in a lamp.
A pair of electrodes 2 are provided at both inner ends of an arc tube 1 formed of light transmission ceramic, sodium is sealed in the inside of the tube 1, and discharge is made between the electrodes 2. In this sodium lamp, a coil-shaped electrode 14b formed by being wound around the tube 1 is provided as an outer electrode 14 in addition to the paired electrodes 2, and a pulse voltage is applied between the outer electrode and one electrode 2.
