Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a high-quality sound field simulation so that unneeded sound rays can be removed when a plurality of sound rays passing through the same reflection path exist.
SOLUTION: The sound ray tracking device judges (S3-S6) if rays enter a sound reception area consisting of a radius (S13 and S14) of a sphere specified by a user or a radius of a sphere calculated from the maximum time for tracking the sound rays specified by the user or an angle step for emitting sound rays (S1 and S2). When the sound rays enter, the area of a sphere with the size of a radius (smaller than the first radius) calculated from a time it takes for reaching from a sound source to the sound receiving area is newly prepared (S7) to judge if sound rays enter the new sound reception area again (S8), thus removing unneeded rays (S9 and S10). Also, the history information of the arriving sound rays is finally compared and another is removed when a sound ray with the same exists (S11).
