HOLLOW CONTAINER MADE OF POLYESTER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS575747
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: The titled container useful as a container for cosmetic, having improved pearly surface gloss, mold reproducibility in blow molding and drop strength, obtained by adding methacrylic type copolymer resin to a thermoplastic polyester resin.

CONSTITUTION: 51W99wt% Thermoplastic polyester resin consisting of ethylene terephthalate as a main repeating unit (≥75mol%), having 0.74W1.40 intrinsic viscosity is blended with 1W49wt% methacrylic type resin obtained by copolymerizing methyl methacrylate with 5W40wt% at least one acrylic ester shown by the formula CH2=CHCOOR (R is 1W8C alkyl). Pellets are formed into a preform with proper thickness by extrusion or injection molding, and subjected to biaxial orientation blow molding at orientation temperature 80W160°C in a total orientation ratio 1.3W2.0 to give a hollow container.
