To provide a home page update notification system for notifying the update of the contents of the arbitrary HTML tag of a home page even when the configurations of a home page change, and for notifying the change of configurations when the configurations of a home page change.

An update notification server 103 is provided with a recording device 104 and respective processing means such as HTML tag selecting means, HTML tag acquiring means, update deciding means, update notifying means and recording device updating means. The update deciding means decides the presence/absence of an HTML tag and the matching/mismatching of the HTML tag based on path information showing the hierarchical structure of the HTML tag, and decides the presence/absence of the HTML tag whose hierarchical structure is equal and the matching/mismatching of the HTML tag, and decides the presence/absence of the update of the contents of the HTML tag and the presence/absence of the change of the configuration of the HTML document based on each decision result.
