To provide a production process of an edge gluing veneer of a definite length allowing high-yield high-efficiency production and an apparatus thereof.
The process and apparatus for producing veneers of the definite length to control summed length of veneers within a range of regular size L or below and L-2α or above, which form veneers of a definite length of the regular size L or below by detecting and cutting defective parts in front and rear sections of a raw veneer material include subsequent step (C) that is one of steps (C-1) to (C-4) after going through steps (A) and (B) in the production process of veneers; provided that the effective length from front cutting position to rear cutting position of small width raw veneers equals to or exceeds minimum effective size α, where the effective length of small width raw veneers are summed in orthogonal direction to that of fibers for making the definite length.
