Title:
HSP 47 SYNTHESIS SUPPRESSING AGENT
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH08301781
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a heat shock protein synthesis suppressing agent having a molecular weight of 47kD, containing a malt extract as an active ingredient and useful for the therapy of cirrhosis, interstitial pulmonary diseases, cicatrix combustions, etc., because of suppressing the synthesis of collagen in organs.

CONSTITUTION: This HSP 47 synthesis suppressing agent contains a malt extract as an active ingredient. The malt extract is preferably a malt extract obtained by saccharifying malt, filtering the product, extracting the residues with an alkaline aqueous solution or an alkaline hydrophilic solvent, controlling the extract to a pH of 3-5, removing the precipitated proteins, neutralizing the supernatant, further removing the precipitated substances and finally removing low molecular weight fractions from the supernatant. The malt extract is preferably added in an amount of 0.1-80wt.% to the objective suppressing agent. The suppressing agent is usually administered at a daily dose of 1mg to 10g for an adult in terms of melt extract.
