Abstract:

To obtain a novel polypeptide for diagnoses of infectious diseases, cancers, hypertension, myocardial infraction, etc., being a human splicing variant of CXCR4 kemokine receptor containing an amino acid sequence having high identity with a specific amino acid sequence.

This human splicing variant CXCR4B of a CXCR4 kemokine receptor is a polypeptide containing an amino acid sequence having at least 70% identity to the whole length of the amino acid sequence of the formula, a polypeptide containing the amino acid sequence of the formula and a novel isolated polypeptide sequence selected from the polypeptide of the formula, which is the human splicing variant CXCR4B of a CXCR4 kemokine receptor and useful for diagnoses, etc., of infectious diseases, pains, cancers, diabetes, obesity, asthma, Parkinson's disease, hypertension, angina, myocardial infraction, allergies, etc. This polypeptide is obtained by expressing a gene which is prepared from a cDNA library derived from the human pancreas by standard cloning and screening using the EST analysis, with a vector in host cells.
