Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hybrid type metal melting furnace which is also capable of holding a molten metal by using a furnace cover while preventing the lifetime from being shortened by exposing a burner provided in the furnace cover under high-temperature heat for a long time.SOLUTION: The hybrid type metal melting furnace comprises: a crucible 11 in which a metal to be molten is accommodated; and an induction coil 24 for heating the metal to be molten by making an induction current flow thereto. Furnace covers 13 and 14 that cover an upper side of an opening 21 of the crucible 11 include the first furnace cover 13 including a burner 41 for throwing a flame into the crucible 11; and the second furnace cover 14 in which the burner 41 is not provided. When melting the metal to be molten, the first furnace cover 13 is disposed at such a position that the opening 21 is closed. When holding the molten metal inside of the crucible 11, on the other hand, the first furnace cover 13 is removed from the opening 21 and the second furnace cover 14 is then disposed at such a position that the opening 21 is closed.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
