To reduce the size of a hydraulic continuously variable transmission, and reduce a cost in the transmission installed with two hydraulic motors together to an axial type hydraulic pump so as to circulate hydraulic oil in a closed oil hydraulic circuit.
A variable capacity hydraulic pump 21, a first hydraulic motor 22, and a second hydraulic motor 23 are arranged on a central section 32, thereby a HST type transmission 10 is constituted. Both the first hydraulic motor 22 and the second hydraulic motor 23 are formed in a variable capacity type, and gear change is made by capacity control. The first hydraulic motor 22 is formed in a variable capacity type, the second hydraulic motor 23 is formed in a fixed capacity type, and changing gear operation is performed by controlling the capacity of the first hydraulic motor 22. Either or both the first hydraulic motor and the second hydraulic are formed as a double variable capacity hydraulic motor.
