To provide a hydraulic continuously variable transmission which avoids upsizing of a device configuration, and which can contribute to a further improvement in fuel efficiency characteristics by suppressing an increase in the number of component, weight and a manufacturing cost.
A hydraulic continuously variable transmission 10 includes an input shaft 20, a hydraulic variable-speed part X, and an output part 90. The hydraulic variable-speed part X includes a cylinder block 30, a plunger 40 for a hydraulic pump, a swash plate 50 for the hydraulic pump, a plunger 60 for a hydraulic motor, a swash plate 70 for the hydraulic motor, and a swash-plate inclination adjusting mechanism 100. The hydraulic continuously variable transmission 10 can increase/decrease a rotational speed, which is output by the output part 90, by changing an inclination of the swash plate 50 for the hydraulic pump by means of the swash-plate inclination adjusting mechanism 100, and can switch a direction of rotation, which is output via the output part 90, by switching the inclination of the swash plate to a speed increasing side or a speed decreasing side on the basis of the inclination which makes a speed reducing ratio infinite.
