To improve responsiveness of a lockup clutch device.
This device has a front cover 16, a pump impeller 11, a turbine runner 12, an unmovable member whose movement is axially regulated, a lockup piston 21 which is movably arranged in respect to the unmovable member, wherein its inner and outer peripheral edges are sealed, and forms a first hydraulic chamber together with the unmovable member in the gap relative to the front cover 16, and a second hydraulic chamber in the gap relative to the turbine runner 12, a first oil passage communicated with the first hydraulic chamber, a second oil passage communicated with the second hydraulic chamber, an engaging/disengaging means engaged or disengaged according to the movement of the lockup piston 21. A check valve 94 which is opened in one direction from the released side hydraulic pressure chamber side to the operated side hydraulic pressure chamber side is arranged on the unmovable member.
