To provide a compact hydraulic unit formed by integrating a hydraulic pump, an electric motor, a tank and a booster.
The booster 15 has a piston 24 freely slidably inserted in the axial direction into a cylinder 23 and a piston rod 16 provided at one end of the piston 24 to fluid-tightly penetrate one end of the cylinder 23 to protrude to the outside. In the piston rod 16, a bottomed recess 16A is formed on the end surface protruding to the outside. The electric motor 6 for rotatably driving the hydraulic pump 7 is held in the recess 16A. Thus, the electric motor 6 can be placed in an overlapping manner with the piston rod 16 of the booster 15 without having an influence upon the axial movement of the piston rod 16.
