PURPOSE: To produce a hydrogen occlusion body which is enhanced in the packing rate of a hydrogen occlusion alloy by mixing a binder consisting of a fluororesin at a specific ratio with the powder of the hydrogen occlusion alloy and press molding the mixture to a prescribed shape.
CONSTITUTION: This hydrogen occlusion body 1 is produced by mixing the binder 3 consisting of the fluororesin (polytetrafluoroethyle) at 5 to 30wt.% with the powder 2 of the hydrogen occlusion alloy and press molding the mixture under a molding pressure of ≥40kg/cm2 to the prescribed shape. The occlusion body 1 may be provided with one or plural through-holes at its center. As a result, the hydrogen occlusion body 1 increased in the packing rate of the hydrogen occlusion alloy is obtd. and the splashing of pulverized particles in the process of absorbing and releasing hydrogen is prevented.
