Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a method for recovering valuable materials such as lead, gold and silver in connection with the hydrometallurgical production of zinc.

CONSTITUTION: At least a part of the zinc concentrate is roasted to melt zinc oxide and subjected to neutral leaching. The residual ferrite obtained by the neutral leaching is leached with a strong acid by using the return acid. The solution obtained by the strong acid leaching is treated in an autoclave to obtain iron as hematite. The residue obtained by the strong acid leaching is pyrometallurgically treated to obtain lead contg. noble metals. The lead is treated by the well-known method to separate the noble metals.
