Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately detect the hydroplaning condition by judging the hydroplaning condition of a car when the difference of the slip ratios of front and rear wheels, and the front and rear acceleration are within a predetermined extent.
SOLUTION: A reference car body speed calculating means 2 calculates a reference car body speed of a car on the basis of the information detected by the wheel speed sensors 1A-1D, and the steering information of a steering angle sensor 4. A reference wheel speed calculating means 5 calculates the theoretical wheel speeds of the wheels 3A-3D as the reference wheel speed on the basis of the reference car body speed. A front wheel slip ratio calculating means 6 and a rear wheel slip ratio calculating means 7 calculate the slip ratio of the front wheel side and that of the rear wheel side on the basis of each reference wheel speed. A difference of front and rear wheels slip ratios calculating means 8 calculates the difference of the slip ratios between the front and rear wheels on the basis of each slip 7A ratio. A judging means 10 judges the hydroplaning condition of a car, when the front and rear acceleration from a front and rear acceleration sensor 9, and the difference of slip ratios between the front and rear wheels, are within a predetermined area on a memorized judgement map.
