Title:
X-RAY DETECTOR
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH0696721
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide an X-rays detector having sufficient conductivity, low absorption of soft X-rays, and high physical stability by providing a conductive layer composed of a constituent selected from the group consisting of gold, platinum, iridium, and a mixture of these materials on an internal surface of an incidence window of a housing thereof. CONSTITUTION: X-rays incoming through an incidence window 4 of a housing 2 ionize a gas, such as argon and the like, in a gas flow ionization counter tube and then released electrons are captured by anode rays 12 given with a positive potential. An electric charge pulse generated by this is supplied to an preamplifier 22 through an output lead wire 16 grounded via a capacitor 18, and a capacitor 20. On this occasion, a material superior in electric characteristics, such as gold and the like, is deposited to make a layer on the window 4. Thus the thickness of the conductive layer 26 can be reduced and the absorption of the radiation can be made small extremely. Moreover, the window 4 suffers less physical damage which is caused by expansion or shrinkage thereof due to the change of moisture and the like.
