To provide an image editing method and device for preventing conflicts when a plurality of persons edit one piece of data on a screen, without hindering the operation, and for facilitating editing as intended by each operator with excellent operablity.
An image editing method includes: acquiring identification information on each of a plurality of operation instruction units for instructing editing of an image; automatically selecting one or more images to be edited from images as images to be used based on the identification information; determining a right to edit showing content of editing allowed to each operation instruction unit for each of the images to be used; and editing an image to be edited in the images to be used based upon the determined right to edit according to an editing instruction given by each operation instruction unit.
