Abstract:
To provide an image formation apparatus and an image formation control method which can more stably obtain desired image quality.SOLUTION: An image formation apparatus comprises: a screen processing unit 24 which forms an image by using a screen; a recording head 22 which forms an image by discharging ink from a nozzle; a conveyance unit which moves a medium along a conveyance path passing through each image generation area of the screen processing unit and the recording head; and a control unit which repeatedly performs control of forming an image so as to overlap with the same range of the medium by the screen processing unit and the recording head; and a medium detection unit 21 which detects abnormality relevant to a surface state of the medium at the uppermost stream side for the conveyance path. The control unit determines a range in which the abnormality is detected in the medium with the image formation length by the screen as a unit, temporarily stops movement operation of the conveyance unit when the abnormality is detected, and determines the possibility of the image formation operation by the screen processing unit and the recording head for each image formation length on the basis of a status of the abnormality.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
