Abstract:

To provide an image forming apparatus that suppresses deterioration in image quality due to difference in altitude.

An image forming apparatus comprises: an image forming unit that forms a toner image on the surface of an image carrier; transfer means that transfers the toner image to a recording sheet; and fixing means that fixes the transferred toner image on the recording sheet. The image forming apparatus further comprises control means that stores relationship between altitude and fixing temperature as a first table, the relationship being that the fixing temperature of the fixing means gets lower as altitude gets higher; specifies altitude based on information input from outside; and sets fixing temperature corresponding to altitude based on the specified altitude and the first table.
