PURPOSE: To clearly confirm the unused quantity of a printing ribbon, by provid ing a transparent window at a part of a casing and interposing a moving mem ber having a color different from that of the printing ribbon between an unused printing ribbon and a used printing ribbon so as to make it possible to see the same through the window.

CONSTITUTION: A moving plate 49 relatively light and having low friction coefficient is arranged in a ribbon receiving part 45 in an up-and-down movable manner to form an upper receiving part 45A of a used printing ribbon 30A and a lower receiving part 45B of an unused printing ribbon 30B across the moving plate 49. Since a printing ribbon 30 usually has a black color or a color near thereto, the color of the moving plate is set to the one clearly discernible from the printing ribbon like white. A transparent plate 51 is fitted into the part of the cassette cover 35 opposed to the ribbon receiving part 45 of a cassette main body 34 and the position of the moving plate 49 can be confirmed therethrough. The unused printing ribbon 30B is taken out from a take- out port 47 and the used printing ribbon 30A participated in the formation of an image is received in the ribbon receiving part 45A from a take-in port 46.
