Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of suppressing the apparatus from becoming large-sized by suppressing movement amounts of a wiper member and a cap-lifting mechanism.SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus 100 includes: a lead screw 1 including a grooved portion 1a provided in a central portion thereof, and non-grooved portions 1b provided on both end sides of the grooved portion 1a; a cap-lifting mechanism 2 movably installed to the lead screw 1 for covering ink-ejection surfaces as the mechanism moves in an axial direction; and a wiper member 3 for wiping ink adhered to the ink-ejection surfaces. One of the cap-lifting mechanism 2 and the wiper member 3 is configured to independently start movement while being meshed with the grooved portion 1a, connect with the other of the cap-lifting mechanism 2 and the wiper member 3 in a stationary state by moving a predetermined distance to mesh the other with the groove 1c of the grooved portion 1a, and move to the non-grooved portion 1b and stop.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
