To provide an image forming system that includes an image forming apparatus and a sheet post-processing device, and can remove a sheet present on the periphery of a drawable relay unit that connects the image forming apparatus and the sheet post-processing device when paper jam occurs easily without tearing the sheet.
When a sheet stops over an end on the downstream side of a relay unit and a body housing, an image forming system forcibly conveys the sheet to a sheet post-processing device. When a sheet stops over an end on the upstream side of the relay unit and the body housing, if the length in the conveyance direction of the sheet is larger than the length in the conveyance direction of the relay unit, the image forming system forcibly conveys the sheet to the sheet post-processing device; on the other hand, if the length in the conveyance direction of the sheet is smaller than the length in the conveyance direction of the relay unit, the image forming system forcibly conveys the sheet into the relay unit and stops the sheet.
