Title:
IMAGE INFORMATION PROCESSOR
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH07273969
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To prevent part of a necessary image from being lost owing to binding holes, etc., by making positions mutually opposite by blank parts as the binding margins of the top and rear surfaces of a form when the image is printed on both the surfaces.

CONSTITUTION: A document to be printed is retrieved on an optical disk device 22 and its 1st page is stored in an image memory 50 through an image processing part 51. When both-surface binding margin printing is specified, a CPU 34 judges whether a page to be printed is an odded-number page (rear surface) or an odd-numbered page (top surface); when the page is the rear surface, the data in the memory 50 are shifted to the left by specific shift width to form a blank on the right side. When the page is the rear surface, on the other hand, the data are shifted to the right to form a blank on the left side, and the data are printed on a printer 25. Thus, the blank parts are formed as binding margins on the same side of the form, so even when binding holes are formed, part of the necessary image is prevented from being lost owing to the binding holes and an excellent print image can be obtained.
