To provide an image rotating adapter which provides a special effect to an image taken by a camera.

The image rotating adapter includes: a first prism forming a subject image transmitted through an imaging lens at a position; and a second prism 44 further reversing the subject image reversed by the first prism. The adapter also includes: a rotation drive means 68 rotating the second prism 44; a control means controlling the rotation drive means; a rotation instruction means instructing the control means to start or stop rotation; a target position setting means previously setting one or more target positions to stop the second prism; a preset instruction means instructing the control means to perform a preset function for moving the second prism to the target position; a speed adjustment means adjusting rotation speed of the second prism; and a detection means detecting a rotation position and a rotation direction of the second prism.
