PURPOSE: To minimize the speed fluctuation of a photosensitive material and a transfer material and to reduce transfer aberration and color slippage by setting a frictional force applied to a contact part between the photosensitive material and the transfer material less than both the driving force of the surface of the photosensitive material and that of the surface of the transfer material.
CONSTITUTION: An intermediate transfer drum 6 as the transfer material, and four photosensitive drums 5(y, m, c, and k) as the photosensitive material are provided, and each photosensitive drum 5 forms toner images of yellow(y), magenta(m), cyan(c), and black(k), respectively. Furthermore, the surface of the intermediate transfer drum 6 is coated with conductive polyurethane system resin, which reduces a frictional coefficient with each photosensitive drum 5. The frictional force applied to the contact part between the photosensitive drum 5 and the intermediate transfer drum 6 is set less than the driving forces on the surfaces of both the photosensitive drum 5 and the intermediate transfer drum 6.
