To provide an imaging device capable of selecting an operation of giving priority to heat radiation by a fan or an operation of giving priority to continuing imaging, in accordance with user's intention even when an inner temperature of the device rises.
The imaging device includes: a fan for cooling the inside of the device; temperature detecting means for detecting a temperature of the device; setting means for setting an on- or off-state of the operation of the fan while the temperature is not rising; display control means which controls to display a selection screen to select to drive or not to drive the fan, responding to the detection of a temperature equal to or higher than a first threshold by the temperature detecting means, provided that the operation of the fan is set to an off-state by the setting means; and fan control means which controls not to drive the fan when no driving of the fan is selected, and controls to drive the fan when driving of the fan is selected, by user's operation while the selection screen is displayed.
