Abstract:
To obtain an immunopotentiator having excellent immunopotentiating activity and daily administrable, and free from side effects.
This immunopotentiator contains a substance obtained from the whole tuberous or the skin part of Ipomoea Batatas L. and having the following physical properties as an active ingredient: (1) molecular weight: about 2×104, (2) pH: about 5 (10 mg/10 ml), (3) solubility: easily soluble in water, and scarcely soluble in ethanol, chloroform, ethyl acetate, acetone, hexane or benzene, (4) molar absorbance coefficient: about 2×105 (280 nm), and (5) ingredient composition: essentially of a protein and slightly containing saccharides and lipids, and negative to the Fehling's test.
