Abstract:

PURPOSE: To make a scattering generated on the surface of a chip uniform, by constituting a ring oscillator by arranging an initiation gate and odd number of inverters connected in series around the chip to be physically dispersed.

CONSTITUTION: An NAND 42 that is an initiation gate is physically dispersed around a chip and even number of inverters 42, 44, and 45 are connected serially in a ring. Then, an initial input ROE is inputted to the NAND 42 and at the same time an output ROO is obtained from the inverter 44. A transistor with a same dimension as that used at a core region is used for the ring oscillator elements. Also, a metal wire for adding a floating capacity to the ring oscillators is added to improve accuracy, thus eliminating the scattering in a manufacturing process that is generated on the surface of the chip and increasing accuracy.
