To provide an induction heating melting furnace, and an induction heating melting method with superior melting efficiency, capable of manufacturing an alloy with an accurate composition ratio, and providing melting and hydrogen refining of refractory metal.
The induction heating melting furnace 10 is provided with a melting furnace body 110 housing metal 130 to be melted, and an induction heating coil 120 arranged in an outer circumferential side of a side face wall 112 of the melting furnace body 110, and carrying out induction heating of the metal 130 to be melted housed in the melting furnace body 110. It is composed such that a plasma torch 20 capable of irradiating arch plasma on the metal 130 to be melted is installed in an upper part of the melting furnace body 110. The melting method is composed to raise a molten metal temperature of the metal 130 to 100°C or more higher than a melting point of the metal 130 to be melted by using the induction heating melting furnace 10, and then carry out tapping and casting.
