Title:
INDUSTRIAL ROBOT
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2004314195
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide an industrial robot wherein an encoder is kept warm without increasing the number of wire and component.

When the industrial robot 2 is stopped and a driving power of a drive servomotor 3 with a shaft thereof being held by an electromagnetic brake 8 is shut, a faint current not enough for releasing the electromagnetic brake 8 is applied a brake releasing coil 11 so that the heat of the encoder 7 is retained by heat generated by the coil 11. Upon releasing the electromagnetic brake 8, a heavy current is applied to the coil 11 by fully applying a brake releasing voltage to the coil 11 to release the electromagnetic brake 8. Upon retaining the heat of the encoder 7 while the electromagnetic brake 8 being operated, the brake releasing voltage is divided by a voltage dividing resistance 13 by operating a shifting switch 14 to apply minute current to the coil 11.
