To provide an inflator capable of easily forming a housing.
The inflator 1 has a surrounding housing 3 formed by welding the two parts of the ceiling side part 4 with a ceiling plate 5 and a bottom side part 11 with a bottom plate 12. The ceiling side part 4 and the bottom side part 11 are provided with circumferential wall components 8, 20 in correspondence with each other connecting outer circumferential edges of the ceiling plate 5 and the bottom plate 12 each other to form an outside circumferential wall 3a, and inside components 10, 14 for forming an inside partition wall 3b forming a central chamber 25 arranged with a gas generation source chamber 26. The inside component 14 of the bottom side part 11 is formed in a manner to extend along the axis O of the housing 3 from the bottom plate 12 as a communication port side component 15 for allowing communication ports 40 to be arranged. The circumferential wall component 20 of the bottom side part 11 has a height from the bottom plate 12 along the axis O of the housing 3 lower than the opening position of the communication ports 40 of the communication port side component 15.
