PURPOSE: To simplify the reproduction by recording and reproducing respective signals of audio control on one side of a cassette tape and picture control on the other side.

CONSTITUTION: A cassette tape deck 10 is provided with magnetic heads 27L, 27R reading the signal recorded on the left and right tracks of the cassette tape 15, preamplifiers 28L, 28R, power amplifiers 29L, 29R and speakers 30L, 30R. A switching part 31 is provided between the amplifiers 29 and the speakers 30, and when an input plug is inserted, the outputs of the amplifiers 29 are supplied only to a conversion part 16 and an audio storage part 17. By the conversion part 16, the signal on the left track of the tape 15 is converted to a digital signal, and the signal on the right track is stored in the audio storage part 17. This device is provided with a CPU 18, a ROM 19, a RAM 20 controlling the operation of respective parts in an information display device for dealing with audio and an A/V signal generator 21 outputting a video signal, and a character and a graphic are displayed on a liquid crystal display plate 22. In such a manner, the reproduction of the audio and the video are performed by the cassette tape.
