To realize an information providing system capable of providing information particularized to a person or individual information timely and in real time by using a contactless IC card.

A system provider 1 builds up the information providing system and supplies it to an information provider 2. A mobile phone subscriber 3 informs the information provider 2 about an e-mail address or a mobile phone number to become a member. The information provider 2 stores the e-mail address or the mobile phone number to a database 5 and distributes an RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) for recording identification information to a mobile phone subscriber 3. The mobile phone subscriber 3 attaches the RFID to the mobile phone. When the mobile phone subscriber 3 acquires information, the subscriber 3 brings the mobile phone close to an RFID reader/writer 4 to make the RFID reader/writer 4 read the RFID information and transmit the information to the information provider 2. The information provider 2 searches a most appropriate e-mail text or voice information from the database 5 on the basis of the RFID information and provides the retrieved information to the mobile phone subscriber 3.
