Abstract:
To improve productivity of an ink discharge device.SOLUTION: An ink discharge device includes a head, a move part, and a control part. The move part moves the head in an X-axis direction which is a direction perpendicular to a transport direction of a recording medium and a Y-axis direction which is the transport direction. The control part causes the move part to perform preparation movement for moving the head from a predetermined printing standby position to a printing start position. During the preparation movement, the control part causes the move part to move the head in also the Y-axis direction concurrently with movement in the X-axis direction.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 22
