Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to complete initial filling in a short time without initial filling operation by a user.SOLUTION: According to this ink jet printer, initial filling is completed in a short time without initial filling operation by a user. The printer is equipped with: a memory 163 for storing an initial filling flag which indicates whether an ink cartridge 150 is used for initial filling or not; ink initial filling means for initially filling an ink into an ink circulation path from the ink cartridge 150 mounted onto a body device; and filling control means 21 which reads out the initial filling flag from the memory 163 when the ink cartridge 150 is mounted onto the body device, and in the case that it is determined that the ink cartridge mounted onto the body device is used for initial filling on the basis of the read-out initial filling flag, initially fills the ink to ink initial filling means (each equipment of an ink make-up valve 152 and the ink circulation path).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
