PURPOSE: To simplify the filling with ink by providing a large diameter opening part capable of opening the interior of a container main body to the outside and the plug member having a fine opening inserted in the large diameter opening in a freely detachable manner to an atmosphere communication part.
CONSTITUTION: An ink tank 3 has an ink absorbing element in the whole of the ink storage space thereof and produces a specific pressure with respect to a recording head 2 to keep a normal ink emitting state. For example, even in constitution such that the storage space is wholly occupied by ink, the ink absorbing element and ink itself are arranged in a well-balanced state. The ink tank 3 is constituted so that air is introduced into the ink tank with the consumption of the ink supplied to the recording head 2. An atmosphere communication part 4 is provided in order to prevent that the interior of the ink tank becomes an excessive negative pressure state to make the supply of ink impossible.
