To provide an inkjet recording apparatus configured to prevent ink bleed, to completely dry ink, and to prevent a recording head from failing to eject ink, even if latex ink is used.
An inkjet recording apparatus 1 performs printing on a recording medium 2 by using ink comprising a water-based ink vehicle containing latex as binder resin. The apparatus includes: a carriage 14 having a recording head 13 to discharge ink droplets and moving with respect to the recording medium 2; a platen 12 that supports the recording medium 2 in a predetermined position; and a heating means for heating the recording medium 2. As the heating means, the inkjet recording apparatus has a platen heater 20 that is mounted on a platen 12 and heats from below, a carriage heater 30 that is mounted on a carriage 13 and heats from above, and an upper heater 34 that is arranged on the downstream side in the moving direction of the recording medium 2 with respect to the carriage 13 and heats from above.
