To provide an inkjet recording medium excellent in glossiness and smoothness which keeps blur over time of an image improved, a coating film not cracked by folding, and paper dust not generated during cutting by a cutter.

In the inkjet recording medium having at least two coating layers on an air-permeable base material, a first coating layer close to the base material of the coating layers contains an inorganic pigment with a pore volume of 0.5 ml/g or more according to a BET and an average particle size of 1.5 μm or less and an emulsion type adhesive as main components, a second coating layer on the first coating layer contains an inorganic fine pigment with a pore volume of 0.8 ml/g or more according to the BET and an average particle size of 0.7 μm or less and polyvinyl alcohol as main components, the first coating layer is substantially free from the polyvinyl alcohol, the first and second coating layer contains a compound crosslinkable with the polyvinyl alcohol, further the inkjet recording medium is obtained by pressing the same to a heated mirror face drum and drying the same during the second coating layer is in a wet condition.
