Abstract:

To provide an insecticide, in which long-term residual activity can be expected by using a small amount of a chemical, capable of being used even in outdoors, places in which water is scattered, underground reservoirs of buildings and spaces to which water content is readily attached, e.g. high-humidity spaces and to provide a method for exterminating insects by using the insecticide.

The insecticide is obtained by retaining an insecticidal compound in which vapor pressure at 25°C is 5.0×10-6 to 1.0×10-4 mm Hg onto a nonaqueous solid carrier composed of a fibrous substance. The method for exterminating insects comprises using the above insecticides.
