Abstract:
To provide an installation tool for a blind fastener and an installation procedure for the fastener.SOLUTION: An installation tool includes a body, a first sleeve 220 movable in axial and rotational directions in the body that drives a gripping element, a second sleeve movable in the axial direction in the body and immovable in the rotational direction, and a driving device. A shaft comprises a first freewheel that provides rotation to the first sleeve, a second free wheel, and a driving element disposed around the second free wheel. The driving element cooperates with the second sleeve. The first free wheel provides rotation to the first sleeve in a first rotation direction of the shaft. The second free wheel provides rotation to a second driving element in a second rotation direction of the shaft to move the second sleeve in the axial direction. By a single operation, the installation tool pulls the fastener, forms a bulging portion on a blind face of a structure, applies torque on a pin, and destroys the gripping element.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
