Title:
INTAKE CONTROLLER FOR CYLINDER INJECTION TYPE SPARK-IGNITION ENGINE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3641931
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an intake controller capable of switching gas flow inside a combustion chamber to a normal tumble flow from a reverse tumble flow or vice versa and forming an optimal gas flow spot correspondingly to the engine operating condition.
SOLUTION: When a control valve 15 arranged on the downstream side of intake valve stems 8a, 9a of intake ports 6, 7 is placed in the position almost parallel to an intake flow A, a normal tumble flow a1 is formed inside a combustion chamber 5, and when the control valve 15 is placed in the position blocking the half side of the cross section of the intake ports 6, 7, a reverse tumble flow a2 is formed inside the combustion chamber 5. Thus gas flow inside a combustion chamber can be changed from a normal tumble flow to a strong reverse tumble flow correspondingly to the engine operating condition without accompanying output lowering caused by lowering of intake efficiency.
