Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inverter apparatus for driving a motor, capable of stabilizing voltage of a DC circuit when AC voltage is shut down.SOLUTION: An inverter apparatus for driving a motor in an embodiment includes a converter, an inverter and a power conversion unit. The converter converts AC voltage into DC voltage and outputs the DC voltage to a DC bus. The inverter converts the DC voltage from the DC bus into AC voltage of a predetermined frequency to drive an AC motor. The power conversion unit is formed between the DC bus and a storage cell to charge the storage cell with the DC voltage converted by the converter and discharge the DC voltage from the storage cell to the DC bus. When the AC motor is stopped and the voltage of the DC bus exceeds a first threshold, the power conversion unit charges regenerative power supplied from the AC motor to the storage cell.
