Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide an iron device of such a construction that water is supplied to its iron body to make mangling of clothes, etc., by means of placing the iron body on a stand, wherewith safe handling is ensured being free from hazard of malfunction or electric shock through precluding of careless water leak resulting from misoperation commited by the user.

CONSTITUTION: A water supply/exhaust device 28 supplies water in a reservoir tank 27 to a tank 17 of the iron body 10 and exhausts the water from tank 17 to the reservoir tank 27 in conformity to the output signal from a water quantity sensing means 19 of the iron body 10, and a reservoir tank sensing means 41 is furnished to sense whether the reservoir tank 27 is in place on the stand 24. Even though the user commits water exhaust operation by mistake in case the sensing means 41 outputs that no tank 27 is in place, the water supply/exhaust device 28 is not driven so as to preclude certainly the hazard of water leak from the iron body 10.
