PURPOSE: To provide an ironing board which achieves improvements in handling with higher workability at the starting or the ending of an ironing.

CONSTITUTION: In an ironing board 1 which has a clothing carrier section 3 where clothing is placed and an iron carrier section for placing an iron A. the clothing carrier section 3 is provided with a clothing carrying member 6 free to move along the top surface of the ironing board while a part of the clothing carrier member 6 is allowed to be housed into the ironing board 1. The iron carrier section 4 is provided with an iron carrier base 17 free to lift or lower and the operation of moving the clothing carrier member 6 is made to interlock the operation of lifting or lowering the iron carrier base 17. The iron carrier section 4 is provided with a cover 20 free to house the iron A and the operation of moving the clothing carrier member 6 is made to interlock the operation of moving the cover 20.
