PURPOSE: To attain double fold improvement in work efficiency and production efficiency while maintaining the advantage of a press and having flexibility in the use as an iron by supporting an ironing plate on a carriage and moving it in every direction parallel to an ironing table.

CONSTITUTION: An ironing plate 2 faces an object to be ironed on an ironing table 1 and the object is pressed by lowering the ironing plate 2 with an operating part 3. Afterwards, a manual control 5 is inclined in the desired direction of moving the ironing plate 2 and operated. By this operation, an electric motor 6 is driven and the ironing plate 2 is moved in a desired direction through carriages 8 and 9 and a pneumatic jack 4. Therefore, ironing can be performed similarly to the case of using an ordinary iron and since it is not necessary to manually support the iron all the time, ironing is easily and quickly performed. Further, carry-in/out from the ironing table 1 is facilitated.
