PURPOSE: To efficiently suck steam, to prevent the temperature of an iron or an iron mounting part from being decreased and to make the quantity of generated steam proper by varying the suction force of a steam sucking fan, the heated temperature of the iron or the quantity of generated steam corresponding to the degree of moisture in the ironing stand.

CONSTITUTION: In the case of humidity higher than a prescribed value, a communicating hole 28 is closed by a valve element 30 based on the humidity detected by a humidity detecting means 11 and at the same time, a communicating hole 27 is opened by a stand side control circuit. Then, a humidity sucking chamber 24 and a suction chamber 26 are communicated, and the steam is sucked through a clothing mounting part 2 and exhausted from a ventilating port 32 by driving a suction fan 32. On the other hand, the stand side control circuit and an iron side control circuit vary the heated temperature of the base of an iron 33 or the heated temperature of the clothing mounting part 2 based on the humidity detected by the humidity detecting means 11. Further, the iron control circuit controls the humidity to a fixed value by controlling the quantity of supplied water from an electric water supply device according to humidity information from the stand side control circuit.
