To provide joint structure easily executable in a short time at a low cost and having sufficient strength and rigidity in the case of jointing the end part of a brace member to a steel pipe column of closed cross section.
A joint plate 13 projected vertically to a frame surface of a rectangular steel pipe column 2 is welded to a one-side half peripheral part of the steel pipe column 2 including two side faces 11, 11 parallel with the frame surface and a one-side side face 12 vertical to the frame surface, at the same angle as the fitting angle of a brace member 1. An end part 1a of the brace member 1 is on the same plane as an end part 13a of the joint plate 13 and mechanically jointed by a bolt 16 through a splice plate 15. Stress of the brace member 1 is transmitted to the side faces 11, 12 of the steel pipe column 2 from the in-plane of the joint plate 13 through the splice plate 15.
