Title:
LASER BEAM SCANNER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2002040340
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a laser beam scanner which can be miniaturized while maintaining accuracy of detection of a beam for synchronism detection in an optical detection element.

A free surface mirror 8 is used as an optical element which reflects and condenses the synchronism detection beam Ld emitted from a semiconductor laser 2 and deflected by a polygon mirror 5a on an SOS sensor 9. The free surface mirror 8 has a positive power at least in a main scanning direction and is formed so that the curvature of the cross-sectional form of the reflecting surface in the principal scanning direction gradually varies in the direction and does not have a symmetrical axis thus an aberration on the surface of the SOS sensor 9 is not generated.
